6 month update
So it's been a very long time since I last posted an update on the boys and seen as they've just turned 6 months, I thought I'd do a blog post with what we're up to now!
Last Wednesday they were weighed and Ollie is now 16lb 4oz and Louie is 14lb 14oz - he's finally hit a stone in weight!
I'm not massively surprised by their weights as they are weaning now (we started about 18 weeks old) and have 3 meals a day and 3 bottles. Our new routine is as follows:
6.30am - Daddy wakes them up and gives them 6oz's of milk, changes their nappies and puts them back to bed.
7.30am - 8.30am - They usually wake anytime between these times but can sometimes go until 9am.
8.30 - 9am - They have 4oz's of milk mixed with porridge. I occasionally give them a fromage frais (they love the peppa pig strawberry ones and so do I as they are wire creamy which means less dribble and mess to clean up!)
9am - 12am - During this time they nap and play, alternating between their toys, jumperoo and walker.
12pm - They have a carrot/blueberry/banana wafter, an ellas kitchen pouch, fruit pot and another fromage frais. I'll sometimes give them toast with dairylea on if they don't seem satisfied.
2pm - 4.30pm - 5oz bottle each and then they go down for their set nap. They usually go the whole time but sometimes do wake at around 4pm. If they wake before, I just put their dummies back in and they go back off.
5pm - dinner time! They started having a jar each and a fromage frais each but they really struggled drinking their bedtime bottle as f they were too full up so I went back to a jar between them and a fromage frais each but now they are a big bigger I'm thinking about trying them in a jar each again.
5pm - 6.30pm - play time and absolutely no sleeping. Even if they scream and cry, they do not sleep!
6.30 - 8pm - Bath time routine is in full swing (yes it does take an hour and a half at the moment to get them both bathed, ready for bed and to drink their bottle!!). I'm sure it's just because they are being bathed one at a time at the moment but I'm on the hunt for some good bath seats which fit in our bath together so we can make it a bit quicker!
8pm - by this time they are in bed and fast as keep for mummy and daddy to have some time to themselves! Since starting up my own company (Vintage Rose Prints), I'll use this time to complete orders if they haven't had long naps throughout the day!
The boys are now on follow on milk and were the day they turned 6 months! It's £1.50 a box cheaper and when you're buying 8 boxes a month, it would be silly not to!
We don't really do much during the week othe than go to my mums on a Wednesday for coffee and cake and to see my man. We also go to twin group on Friday mornings but that's only on from 10am-12pm so afterwards we meet other family and go to the pub for lunch!
Ollie is super good on his feet now and loves running round the downstairs on our house in his walker! Louie is ok on his feet but hasn't got the hang of what he needs to do to make the walker move yet so he prefers the jumperoo. If you follow me on instead ram (@aliceandthetwins) you'll have been that a lot of the time I put Louie in the jumperoo and Ollie in the door bouncer and move them so they are close to each other and they play together quite happily!
They are both in 6-9 month clothes now and already Ollie's left are stretching the feet! He is super tall and lots of people say how long he is! He always measured 3 weeks ahead on growth scans so we kind of knew he would be tall!
Of course we've just had our first family Christmas which was amazing. Last Christmas they were a secret in my tummy and this year they were enjoying a bit of Christmas dinner with us!
Time goes so fast and already we're closer to their 1st birthday than we are them being born!! *crying face*!!!
Here's a couple of photos from the last 3 months since I last posted an update!
Thanks for reading you lovely lot!
So crazy how fast they grow! Louie is still diddy bless him! I'm thinking of starting the weaning process next week with the girls next week! Xx
